RECESSION TENSION -ISLAMIC SOLUTION

Its been a long time that i have not blogged, due to some health issues and other things i was busy with. Here is an article which i have recently written on the Recession which is very common nowadays and i hope that this article may benefit all of us here in handling such a tough situation.InshaAllah.My hubby has done the editing work for me.May Allah reward him and his family.Ameen.

RECESSION TENSION?????????

ISLAMIC SOLUTION…………

Currently the world is going through a very serious epidemic -“Recession”. Whoever catches it is further effected by serious side effects like hypertension, depression, headache etc… So what is recession and how to deal with it??????? A Recession is a general slowdown in economic activity in a country over a sustained period of time. Job cuts, salary reduction, increased workload, unemployment, bankruptcy are some of the after effects of Recession. It also affects the stock markets and many businesses come to ground zero and often have to be shut down due to the tremendous effect on economical losses of a country.
In such conditions it’s very hard for an individual to digest the fact that suddenly he has been fired from the company where he has worked so long, or his salary is reduced to a minimal, increasing his financial worries. The victim under the effect of this has to go through a lot of pressure. The humiliation of losing his job makes it hard for him to face the society. The worry to carry his financial responsibilities towards his family makes him depressed. A new job hunt begins but in most cases the result is only a NO. What is the solution to tackle the situation? If there is no way left other than a new job then the individual has to subject himself to the brutality of his inner self humiliation. Is there a way out to relieve these tensions? And the answer is YES, there is a way.
ISLAM……..
This is the only way to all the problems of the world from rich to the poor, from living to non living. It has a solution to every problem. Let’s try to list down a few things that may help relieve the Recession Tension in an Islamic point of view.
1# PATIENCE: This is the most important necessity in a situation like this. Allah says in the Glorious Quran. “Be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruit (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently perserve.”(2:155)
Not only during Recession, but patience is a healthy formula which acts as a stress reliever in any undesirable situation. In return you are blessed by Allah, His mercy will be on you and you will be guided by Allah. “O ye who believe! Seek help with patient, perseverance and prayer: for God is with those who patiently perserve. (Al Quran 2:153)
“Verily patience is at first stroke of calamity.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol 2, No.372)
2# DHIKR (Remembrance of Allah): when you are stressed you may experience decreased motivation, decrease in communication and learned helplessness. According to Wikipedia, learned helplessness is a psychological condition in which a person feels that he /she has no control over his /her situation and that whatever he/she does is futile. As a result, he/ she will stay passive when the situation is unpleasant.
No matter how much loss you incur, how depressed you are, never give up on Allah. Doing so is nothing but disbelief or kufr.
“Truly no one despairs of Allah’s soothing mercy except those who have no faith.”(Al Quran 12:87)
When you are distressed always do dhikr. Dhikr refers to any form of remembrance of Allah including salat, tasbeeh, making dua (supplication) and reciting the Quran.
3# TAWAKKAL TU IL-ALLAH (Trust in Allah): Putting your complete trust in Allah is important for every muslim.Allah says, “Remember Me, and I shall remember you; be grateful to Me, and deny Me not.”(Al Quran 2:152)
“Victory will be yours; but on Allah put your trust if you have faith.”(Al Quran 5:23)
If you have lost your job, then put your trust in Allah and start a new job hunt with full confidence and Insha’Allah you will succeed in your hunt as Allah says in the above verse.
4# FAMILY SUPPORT: The support from the family of the Recession victim is very important. Instead of feeling depressed along with the victim, one should try to build up his confidence and try to make him strong enough to face the situation. If you are the spouse of the victim then you need to be more caring and responsible because your reaction will affect his performance. If you feel depressed, the victim will hold himself responsible for your condition and this will just add fuel to the fire. Shower him/her with your love and essential support. If you are a sibling, parent or friend of the victim, instead of making him realize how bad his situation is and making him feel guilty over what is happening with him, try to help him find a new job through your contacts or at least guide him spiritually, so that the stress is relieved to some extent.
5# ALLAH IS THE PROVIDER: Allah is Ar-Razzaq (the Provider). In these politically challenged times, Muslims are last to be hired and first to be fired, but getting a job and providing the family is in Allah’s Hands, not yours.
“And He provides for him from (sources) he never could imagine. And if anyone puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is (Allah) for him. For Allah will surely accomplish his purpose. Verily, for all things has Allah appointed a due proportion.” (Al Quran 65:3)
6# BE THANKFUL TO ALLAH: You may be going through difficult situation, but remember those other blessings which Allah has bestowed upon you. Being grateful for all you have helps to maintain a positive attitude in the time of worries and challenges.
7# SINCERE EFFORT: Just sitting idly and wishing the morsel to land in your mouth is not an effort, you need to work even for that. Success depends on your sincere efforts to the best of your abilities. Think, prioritize, plan and move forward. Insha’Allah success will be yours.
8# QURANIC DUAS:
“Our Lord grant us good in this world and good in the life after and keep us safe from the torment of the Fire.”(2:201)
“Our Lord! Impose not on us that which we have not the strength to bear, grant us forgiveness and have mercy on us. You are our Protector. Help us against those who deny the truth” (2:286)
“Our Lord! In You we have placed our trust. And to you do we turn in repentance, for unto You is the end of all journeys.”(60:4)
“O my Lord! Truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that thou dost send me!”(28:24)
Insha’Allah by following this Islamic prescription the Recession tension will be solved to an extent where you can stay in the presence of your mind.

Aalu gosht sojne ki phalli ka saalan(potatoes mutton and drumsticks curry)

yesterday i bought two long fresh drumsticks from the supermarket to prepare sambhar , i was unaware that its my MIL’s fav veg. She told me that she’ll prepare the above mentioned curry which is relished by every member of her household and this was the first time i had it. And when this curry was ready by the expert hands it was so deliciously colourful and awfully tasty that i had to admit that even without tomatoes, curries could be made heavenly delicious. Actually i had a very serious feeling that tomatoes are an essential ingredient for most delicious dishes.I was proved wrong here :) .

My dear Mom in law prepared the whole curry without my assistance and on my insisting she just allowed me to clean the mutton.Following is her experienced, tasty and relishing recipe for Aalu gosht sojne ki phalli ka saalan.

Ingredients:

potatoes – 4 medium(cubed bite size)

onion- 2 medium (sliced)

drumsticks- 2 (cut into 2 inch length)

mutton- 1/2 kg

green chillies-3

ginger garlic paste-2tbsp

red chilli powder- 2 tbsp

turmeric powder – 1tsp

coriander powder- 1 tsp

salt to taste

Coriander leaves chopped- 1tbsp

corn oil/sunflower oil- 2 tbsp

Procedure:

Clean the mutton pieces and add redchilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, green chillies and corn oil and mix well.Add 1 cup of water and let it cook till the mutton is tender and the water is completely absorbed. Now add ginger garlic paste and cook for another 5 minutes taking care not to burn the meat.

Now add potato and drumsticks and mix well and add  2 cups of water and cover it and cook over medium heat. When the gravy thickens put it on simmer for 5 minutes and add 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.Put off the flame and just relish this dish with plain white rice or roti or phulka.

Tips:

Cook till the the top layer of the potatoes is mashed soft in appearance.

Do not stir too much else the drumsticks may break into half
